Increase contact reflexes through the art of Chi Sao
THE ART OF STICKY HANDS
Chi Sao, or sticky hands is the art of developing contact reflexes and sticking to the opponent. In Wing Chun this is practiced through two practitioners maintaining contact with each other’s forearms while executing techniques. Sticking hands teaches the body how to react to changes in body mechanics, pressure, momentum and feel.
Increased contact sensitivity gained from Chi Sao helps students gain an advantage in real world situations by bringing contact reflexes into the mix. Wing Chun practitioners can interpret opponent’s intentions faster than visual or normal contact cues as a result of Chi Sao development
